About Me:

This is my favorite part of the web page.  An area where no one goes and I'm free to ramble!  Let me start off by saying that this page is 100% Microsoft Free!  Secondly I would like to extend my deepest thanks to the wonderful people at AIC and Pioneer who have made El-Hazard and Tenchi Muyo my favorite Anime series, and an intregal part of my life.

A little about me.  My name is Blaine Helmick, I'm a 20 year old male, brown hair, hazel eye's, blood type O+.  My first Anime was Tenchi Muyo OVA Episode 1.  I fell in love with Ryoko and I immediately became an addict.  So far, I have ammassed a collection of cell's, art-books, idol cards, Ani-Mayhem cards, wall-scrolls, dolls, keychains, and even unassembled resin/vinal kits (look for a gallery of kits I've completed here soon).  My collection of El-Hazard items is equally as large.  My favorite character in El-Hazard is Alielle .  My passion for Art has drivin me beyond the boundries of your typical Otaku, and has inspired a need to reach out to the rest of the world and spread the joy that Anime has brought me.  While I am not by any means a profound designer, I do have a nack for layout and digital image enhancement.  Thus the medium of a PC and the Internet is a perfect oportunity to reach out to the world in my own unique way.

How do I create these images you ask?  Well, I'll tell you.  (Here's where you grab a fig newton and a cup of tea.)  First, I scour the internet for as many images as I can possibly find, no matter how big or small.  Then I burn them to CD (to relive the pressure of hard disk constraints).  Then I pick a theme, they usually just come to me as I'm driving in my car, or using the clensing facilities (that's PC for toilet).  I rummage through all the images looking for related spots.  The image want might not necessarily be by itself, it may be part of another larger image, or possibly blocked by another image segment.  I then pop open Corel Photo-Paint and carfully extract viewable segments of the images and smooth the distortion caused by JPEG compression.  Sometime I have to recreate segments of images manually, this takes lots of time and patience as I attempt to recreate each missing pixle without detracting from the overall image.  Once each element is extracted, modified, and smoothed I assemble each element into Corel Draw and apply a background.  From here I render the object in Photo-Paint and save it off to an uncompressed BMP.  Unfortunately to produce these on the internet I must convert them to a  JPEG as the 24bit GIF file hasn't become a standard yet.  This introduces some trace elements of distrotion which I make every attempt to elimate.  This whole process usually takes about two weeks.

Well, if you've made it this far I appreciate your interest, I'd love to hear from you so please send me a note and tell me what you think, or offer some cool ideas!

A special thanks goes to Tsunami, who origionally started the El-Hazard Elite Ring and brought the first visitiors to my page.  I would also like to give proper credit to AIC who origionally created the characters that unlocked my imagination, and Pionner who brought it all home to the US.

All image work was done in CorelDraw Suite v7.0 under the Microsoft Windows95 operating system (if they made a decent version of Corel for IBM OS/2 belive me I'd use it - and 'yes' I use legal copies).

Thanks also go to Netscape Corporation for making the best browser available.
